WLA’s Spring Production of Matilda Cancelled

As of April 13, we have decided that it is in the best interest of all involved to cancel our spring production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.

We are happy that we were able to bring this show to the stage a few times this spring, but with all of the uncertainty over how long schools will be unable to meet (which includes rehearsals) and an expected heavy influx of events when safer-at-home orders are lifted, we don’t think we will be able to make our production work. We are disappointed that you will not be able to see the vast amount of time, effort, and talent on display on our stage this spring.

Because we have incurred all of the production costs for this performance, we are asking that you please consider donating the ticket fee you paid, if you paid in advance. If you would like a letter stating your donation amount to a charitable organization for tax purposes, please let us know. WLA’s theatre program is 98% self-funding – it is primarily supported by ticket sales and advertisements. Every little bit will help us keep this program going, and is greatly appreciated. . 

If you would like to request a refund, you may request a refund via email. Contact jliepert@wlavikings.org to request yours. 

  • If you purchased online, please include the name and email address of the purchaser.
  • If you purchased in person, please include the name and mailing address of the person who purchased the tickets, and a check will be mailed to you. 

The deadline to request a refund is Monday, April 20. If you purchased online, note that refunds will be processed on that date to the card you used during purchase, and it may take 10 to 14 days to appear on your statement.
