Physical Science

Grade Level:  9
Full Year Course:  1.0 Credit
Prerequisites:  None
Course Description:  The students will study the physical sciences (i.e. basic chemistry and physics) to learn ways in which scientists attempt to discover the order God has built into His creation.  The student’s will discover that even though God is constant, man’s understanding of God’s creation has changed through the years.

Biology

Grade Level: 10
Full Year Course:  1.0 Credit
Prerequisites:  None
Course Description:  A study of the marvel and miracle of life and living forms, their relationships, structure, functions, and basic processes from the standpoint of God’s word such as “O Lord, how great are Thy works..” Ps. 92:5.

Chemistry

Grade Level:  11-12
Full Year Course:  1.0 Credit
Prerequisites:  Successful completion of Algebra I
Course Description:  Chemistry is a physical science course in which God’s physical universe is studied.  It is an elective science laboratory course which deals with the study of matter, its composition and structure, and the changes it undergoes.

Physics

Grade Level:  11-12
Full Year Course:  1.0 Credit
Prerequisites:  B- or better in Algebra 2
Course Description:  Physics is a physical science course that deals with the study of God’s physical universe.  It is a weighted elective science laboratory course designed to explore the relationship between matter and energy from a quantitative viewpoint.  It is the study of matter, interaction, and change.

Anatomy

Grade Level: 12
Full Year Course:  1.0 Credit
Prerequisites:  Biology  (B- or higher)
Course Description:  This advanced class provides an opportunity for students to study God’s creation as He shows it in the intricate structure and function of the human body.
