Advisor: Mr. Dale Witte

The Academy Kids is the a cappella choir at WLA. A cappella means to sing without instrumental accompaniment, which means the only instrument used is the human voice. The students in Academy Kids these students rehearse diligently outside of school on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6 pm to 8 pm and perform many times throughout the year at WLA, both in concerts and in the community. Currently composed of nine guys and ten girls, this year’s Academy Kids, in addition to participating in the many concerts at WLA, performed at the
International Competition of High School A capella Semifinals in Port Washington, at Moraine Park Technical College’s Gourmet Dinner, “A World of Good Taste,” and in WELS Choral Fest. Although the Academy Kids is a mainly student-lead group, the official director and adviser is WLA teacher Mr. Dale Witte, who uses his many talents to move the group forward and press them to be the best they can be. He can be contacted at his email, dawitte@wlavikings.org.
