Tuition Tax Deduction

Tax Deduction for Private School Tuition:

Parents are able to receive an Income Tax Deduction from the State of Wisconsin for private school tuition paid by the family. Up to $10,000 per year per high school student and $4,000 per year per grade school student can be claimed. The amount is for private school tuition paid in the 2016 calendar year.  This results in a several hundred dollar tax savings per family per student for many of our WLA families.

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue has produced Schedule PS for families to complete and file with their 2016 Wisconsin State tax return. A link to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue website to Schedule PS can be found on the WI Department of Revenue Website

The Federal Tax ID number (FEIN) of WLA to use on form PS is 39-0910385

WLA family tuition payments for both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years are available to view and print on your individual TADS account. For current WLA families, log into TADS, go to the Billing tab, then go to Reports.  Here you will be able to view and print your tuition payments by calendar year.
