Financial Aid

FInancial Aid at WLA

Winnebago Lutheran Academy realizes the cost of secondary Christian education may be a challenge for some families. Because of this, WLA is happy to award financial aid to the families of students who qualify. Financial aid awarded to families comes from Association congregations, individual gifts, WLA’s annual golf outing, Tee it Up for WLA, and from distributions from the WLA Endowment Fund and other established scholarship funds.

Financial aid applications for the 2017-2018 school year will be done through TADS. TADS objectively analyzes families’ information and gives an opportunity to submit a letter that details any extenuating circumstances.

The financial aid open application period for the 2017-2018 school year is February 1, 2017 – April 20, 2017. Applications submitted during the February 1st – April 20th open application period will receive first preference.  There is a $34 fee to submit a Financial Aid Application.  One application per family – even if you have multiple students.

On the side panel are links to the TADS Financial Aid Worksheet and the TADS Financial Aid Application.  The Worksheet is for informational purposes and will help your family assemble the necessary information to complete the Financial Aid Application.  The link to the actual online Financial Aid Application requires a family to log-in.  For those families who have a tuition account with TADS or applied to Financial Aid last year, you will use the same log-in.

Should your family consider applying?

We encourage all families who are considering applying for financial aid to review the 2017-2018 Financial Aid Guide posted on the right hand side of this webpage.  We hope this will give families a good idea where they stand in the financial aid process.

  • If your student is new to WLA and you have a need for Financial Aid, apply for both Financial Aid and the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) if you meet the income criteria of the WPCP.
  • If your student is a returning student and has received or has a need for Financial Aid. Financial Aid needs to be applied for on an annual basis.
  • If your student is a returning student who received a voucher through the WPCP in the 2016-2017 school year, DO NOT apply for Financial Aid. Just re-apply to the WPCP for a voucher for the 2017-2018 school year.

More information about the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program and how it can relates to your student attending WLA can be found here.

How can you help?

Gifts for tuition assistance are great blessings to the families of WLA and may be given directly to WLA at any time of the year.  WLA and its families are grateful to all who donate toward tuition assistance. Student aid awarded by WLA is from individual donations, WLA’s annual golf outing, Tee-It-Up for WLA, the WLA Endowment Fund, and other established scholarship funds.
